Lets keep it Alive!!!!
i weighed it out....
$250ish for springs and $200+ish for rear sway
or
$430 for GC coilovers with custom spring rates... with harder rear spring rates i dont need a rear sway...
was thinking since the skunk coils that charlie has isnt that harsh of a ride... i can handle something like that... and im hoping koni comes out with shocks before my stock shocks wear out..
skunk2 pro-c
front- 8kg/mm
rear- 6kg/mm
im thinking
front- 350lbs/in or 6.2kg/mm
rear- 450lbs/in or 8.0kg/mm

It's better to stiffen the rear using shock valving than the springrate. Remember the majority of the weight is still the front with the motor any everything. Don't go WAYYY too stiff in the rear on springs. The GC is a great sleeve setup, the only sleeve coilover worth running since you can custom match springs and shocks. Koni keeps sayin they are making the shocks, Can't wait to see some yellows...
my reasoning for the stiffer rear spring was so i didnt have to buy a rear sway.. as i have a base and dont have a rear sway altogether... but i guess +2kg/mm is kinda overdoing it huh?

as for shocks.. im surprised koni hasnt come out with anything for the gds yet...
thanks for the input btw
i'd rep u but im 24'd..

yeah, Koni is dragging their feet with GD shocks... not surprising since the USDM GD3 only has only had two years of production/distribution. i made the decision to bite the bullet and shell out the cash for skunk2's pro-c's. they're so awesome that i'm nearly positive it will be the first and last coilover purchase for my GD
good morning soCAL

good morning soCAL
WTF is 24'd?
But I am biased because I always prefer to run Koni's as they really stand behind the stuff they put out, and I have never needed repairs or replacements for Konis. KONI+GC is a KILLER combo.
but run a rear sway bar and stick to a more conventional combo springrate, they have been developed that way for a reason

Alright man!! Have Fun....I may be in SB this weekend too!!!! But I will be chilling over at UCSB........
look like I'm working weee early tomorrow!!! 3AM
honda reduced the rear stiffness spring rate/dampening and added a sway bar in the GE sports to keep the handling characteristics... most likely in order to make it more comfortable, as compared to the GDs where some thought it was a bit too stiff. GDs had higher rear spring rates and did not have a rear sway probably because of this fact, ratio was roughly ~.6 f/r.. and spring rates should compliment shocks, correct?
they however didnt think to include a rear sway in base model GEs... so base model owners, myself included, are left with a car that feels like its going to roll over

instead of buying a sway bar that will effectively reduce roll/increase oversteer to make a base feel more like a sport... im thinking of increasing the rear spring rate, and eventually increase the rear shock stiffness as well, once products become available... which will basically undo what honda decided to do to make the ride comfortable... which i dont really care for

feel free to correct me if my logic is flawed...
i love to learn...

Increasing stiffness in the rear is good, but the super stiff rear will likely just be uncomfortable, especially with OEM shocks. You can't FAKE a rear sway, its night and day. If I were you I would get the existing GC coilover sleeves, and an aftermarket rear sway that is thick. You would handle like a dream, and still have a smoothe ride, without "this BUS is gonna FLIP" feeling. Be around 500-600ish.
I think tokico is making a threadded body race shock as well for both fits(or were rumored to be). I really just want some Koni's on my fit with the H+R springs I have now. The H&R are very smoothe, and wheel gap is pretty even with 1.5 drop. They ride like neuspeed sports do in any other honda, smoother, and not super stiff, but better performing and better looking than stock, without harshness.
