Have you done your research before you do this? I don't think it is possible to BAR a k-series Fit.

Remember, you know an engine that is either the same year or newer. Most k-series swaps I seen typical has been around 04 or older. And the main reason for that, is the ECU. Newer cars, the ECU controls so much more than just the engine now, all thanks to the CAN BUS system. As an example, inorder for Hasport to put a K-series (and I believe it was from an 02 or 04), in a Fit, they had to make the K-series piggyback the Fit's ECU if you wanted the gauges to work and anything else connected to the ECU. Or just use the K-series' ECU, but you lose all other functions, so for Gauges, you have to probably one of those LCD custom ones. But either route you take, they both need Hondata, and that right there makes it not street legal. So unless there been new swap developments, I don't think it's current possible to get it BAR.

Sorry to be a downer, but I looked into it. It's the first thing I wanted ever since I saw the Fit in Japan before ever released in the US, was a K20 Fit... street legal. For the most part, I'm all about keeping it legal; had a BAR'd GSR Civic before the Fit.

But there is hope... Kraftwerks Base Supercharger kit. It's CARB pending. It's no K, but just as fun.

There are always ways to get around it. Like registering it running under propane. But for the trouble I personally would not go through it.

Ridiculous but it has worked in the past. You can do whatever you want after you get your sticker.

California Bar program doesnt exist right now. AHNOLD suspended it because of the California budget problem.

EDIT* Also you CANNOT bar a K20 in the Fit. The motor must be offered in the same model from the factory.

you're probably looking at $500-$1000
here's some shops you can try: Autolink Motorworks in temple city, or Nasties Garage in Inland Empire

I believe Autolink closed last year in November.
