It is not covered by the warranty(?????) and would have cost $900 to get fixed! Luckily the Service Manager is a friend and he hooked me up, but still.......what a pain! So now I'm looking at fitting a black grill or screen to protect it.....any suggestions?
some people have used billet grills to fix this problem, i personally think it looks like ass. i'm all for function before form, but only if it doesn't make my car look like an "ey, holmes. wurr you frum?" Altima/300c/etc.

when summer comes around, i'm going to do screen wire painted flat black. the more subtle the solution, the better IMO.

Yesterday I finally got around to installing JDM center console + Mugen shortshifter. Gotta say I am very happy with the purchases made ($550 total). The JDM armrest is so comfortable and now I can actually shift with more than just my elbow resting when I feel lazy. Also the smooth crispy shifting helps a lot now too!

were all the connections on the shifter itself difficult to get apart? looking at the various DIY articles, no one really touches on those specifically

I bought an Acura map light and installed that without the slightest problem. Whew! I did have to take a deep breath when I cut into the head liner.
That's my latest mod.
Next one for me is to figure out if I want to stick the "Jazz" badge on the back. I'm a sax player, so a "Honda Jazz" would be kinda cool

There were 2 times I got pissed off. The first was the cotter pin keeping the lever connected to the linkage. In the DIY it tells you to remove the cotter pin before removing the forwardmost plastic piece of the console (not part of the center console itself). By removing the plastic I was able to get to the cotter pin MUCH easier and unbend it and remove it. One small problem upon putting everything back in: I forgot to put the washer back in to keep the lever from sliding out, but I have faith in my cotterpin-bending skills, and I really don't think I need the washer there. It will be fine.

The second pain in my ass was the steel piece keeping the housing for the leverball still. I had nothing to use but screwdrivers and a wirecutter. Screwdrivers were not working well, so I used the wire cutters to pull out the steel. However, in one attempt, I managed to get my right middle finger caught between the wirecutter blades. Lucky for me, no skin was removed, but it was a close call and I squeezed all the blood out into the sink, wrapped a paper towel around it with some tape, and went back outside determined to finish the job other than those 2 spots, it was a simple job.

I just got a lot of jdm oem parts for xmas put in.

JDM Center Armrest Console
JDM Chrome Door Handles,
JDM A/C Vent Control Stickers,
JDM Passenger Sunvisor

400 something all to make my car feel more complete. Doesnt feel like if its the lowest in Honda America's line. To everyone but myself, its all non-noticeable cosmetics with no performance gain, lol. Gonna be a while before I put so much on my car all in one time.

Far from now, my next batch is going to be more on completing the performance
