Dang that gold GE8 is clean!

Why do I get the feeling the guys who always dump tons of money into their cars are always ghosts. (not online, don't come to meets, don't post, don't go to car shows).

I have seen some really sick fits on this website and they all just fell off the face of the earth and disappeared.

if you read his blog he goes to lots of car shows and such. i just think they participate in things a bit diferently maybe like meets like eibach and such you may see them. there are people like jamesbizzle and chris and myself as well as jawa and a few others who have taken the time to do jdm conversions and such but we come to meets

I didn't even know who this guy was until today, so there was little to no chance I knew he had a blog. I just get this feeling that these (like many really modded cars) are show cars, they get built up, shown a few times, stripped and the owner moves onto another car...kinda missing the love of the game.

You can blame Facebook and Instagram

Many highly modded cars end up getting sold after a few years anyway

Its a bummer to be honest, I mean it must be nice to be able to lay out 10k to finish your car in a few weeks, but half the fun is getting excited over ordering new parts. How you get excited when you see that amazon/ebay box sitting outside your door, when you have scraped knuckles and grease on your hands and have swore every word you can imagine installing that brand new part with your own hands, that satisfaction you get you post up your new mod online and others appreciate your time and commitment, and when you roll up to a meet and someone likes your car so much they ask you all about it and can't wait to start the same process all over again.

To most of us, cars are more than just a hobby its a passion. And to these guys who build these show cars and then scrap them they miss out on the love of building a car. To them its like a job void of the emotion you get by taking the time to hand craft your car, as opposed to pressing "add all items to cart" from a website and installing every aftermarket product they can get their hands on.

I know everyone is in different stages with their cars, but if the day comes and you don't feel that excitement you get when you order a brand new part or that eagerness to just go for a drive because you love driving your car so much...then you are no longer a car guy, and you are doing it for all the wrong reasons.

(end rant)

You and I are on the same page Chris!

I justify the purchase price of my my car and all my mods knowing that I keep my cars for as long as I can. You are throwing your money out the window if you mod a car just to sell it shortly after
