Definitely want to go to one of those one day, this is going to be my first event so I'm heading to this one since it's extremely local, about 10 mins away from my place.

Just got an e-mail from the director of the event.

August 15 is open to everyone and you can pay cash at the event. I'm not sure when registration will open for the 15th, but it should be anytime now. At that event you will get three passes at the course. You can also get what we refer to as an "instructor run" where an instructor will take you around the course in your car to familiarize you with the course. This is optional, but I highly recommend it. Cost would be $30 for the championship plus $15 for a temporary membership card.

Hope that helps!
