Getting a Fit

From what I can tell, being in California is an advantage. There are some posts on availability on the Forum. I noticed that some people had luck by putting a $200 deposit down at a dealer, but also getting on the internet and registering the specific model/color. Someone actually got an internet offer while waiting for the dealer to come through. There's no sure way to speed things up, but I'd say your best bet is not to rely on just one source. Depending on how much you're willing to risk, you could put a deposit down at more than one dealer -- but keep it small in case you have to forfeit it.
