I wish more companies would start doing that. Toyota Canada has lowered prices on many of their cars...even the Yaris. The Yaris RS 5 speed is now $1200 less than the Fit Sport MT. It was only $500 less a few months ago. The biggest drop was a Highlander...something like $2700 drop in price.

Well it is nice to see them following through and putting pressure on other companies to also start adjusting prices.

Safe to say that if I need to buy a 4x4 or SUV in the future, Jeep will be at the top of my list for doing the right thing!

Unfortunately for them, I AM buying a sports car within a year or so and due to such poor selection it won't be from them

Hopefully other imports will start dropping the price too. But with Honda having the best selling car for the past 10 years in Canada....I cant see them doing it.

Er... better not tell DaveVM!!

Here are some comparo's for SRT models, only a couple of hundred bucks difference at most!

Jeep SRT8 1% Delta or $575
Can: $41,995
US: $41,420

Dodge Caliber SRT4 9% Delta or $2,100
Can: $25,095
US: $22,995

Dodge Charger SRT8 4% Delta or $1,465

BTW, those deltas should be multiplied by 100 to get a true percentage

That's just the tip of the iceberg! Some of our prices are 10's of thousands more than the US.

You wanna hear a huge ripoff? How about this:

2008 Escalade

US Model fully loaded with 22" rims, AWD, all the options and accessories with pearlescent paint:

MSRP: USD$59,390
As Speced: USD$70,585

Canadian Model fully loaded with 22" rims, AWD, all the options and accessories with pearlescent paint:

MSRP: CAD$76,960
As Speced: CAD$93,880

Factoring in current FX rate:

1.00CAD = 1.00297USD

MSRP:
MSRP: USD$59,390 * 1.00297 = $59,566.39
MSRP: CAD$76,960
------------------
Difference: $17,393.61
Or a variance of: 29.2%

As Speced:
As Speced: USD$70,585 * 1.00297 = $70,794.64
As Speced: CAD$93,880
-----------------------
Difference: $23,085.36
Or a variance of: 32.6%

OK, it wasn't as bad as the M5, but still HOLY CRAP thats over $20,000 more for the fully loaded one...seriously...that's just ridiculous...

So much for showing I am a true Engineer!

Never the less, just showing how the pricing is much more reasonable that other places. The Jeep is pretty impressive, with exchange rate I think it is actually CHEAPER here now!!

I'll bring someone a cookie if they can find the biggest bust in pricing...it's gonna be hard to top 47.93%, but I'm sure someone has done it...

Well both Toyota and GM announced "CANADIAN PRICE ADJUSTMENTS"... They both acknowledge the pricing difference is a problem and have decided to rectify the situations by reducing the price to a level which is fair to everybody.....
However they are both FULL OF SH!T

I have prepared a well thought out letter for you pack of thieves

DEAR TOYOTA AND GM,

DO YOU ACTUALLY THINK WE ARE STUPID AND ARE SO LOST IN CYBERSPACE WE DON'T KNOW HOW TO ACCESS THE US PRICING LIST?

SINCERELY
-AVERAGE JOE CANADIAN

sorry you guys had to witness this, but I had to get this off my chest...
