Honda has just announced that the Honda Fit will be going on sale in Canada on Monday April 3, 2006 ,with prices starting at $14980 for the base Dx model.http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/a.../17/c3413.html

 

Just did a little calculation, and with taxes and all, the Fit will cost you any where between $18300 for the base DX and $24900 for the top model sport automatic. Seems a little more then I was hoping to see for this so called entry level car, what do you guys think of the pricing?

 

Just wondering if anyone has talked to any Honda dealers to find out how many and what kind of models they expect to have on sale in April, and how many do they think might already be spoken for to buyers with deposits already down?

Well I just hope the hype will be satisfied though the production change will probably see a 17 to 19 month turnover before the there is new model.Although I ordered a Storm Silver Sport model already I still feel pretty stoked to get it before the US gets theirs ,I heard their release date was April 20th

 

The pricing is inline with the other models offered in this segment, especially considering all the standard safety options.

 

I called my dealer today and was told the base model starts at $14 900.00 and the Sport will be about $20 000.00 CDN. I really like the Sport model, but at that price, I'd go with an Automatic 06 Civic DXG for $20 080. The Sport model is expensive IMO.


Edit - the Dealer told me they would have a few for April 1st, amd that I should give him my contact info, because he already has 20 other customers waiting.....to much hype@!!!!!

 

It will be intereting to see how it all goes down in a month from now when we start to get some feedback on who got what etc.
