winter tires on the Sport

What do you think is better. Stock size of 195/55x15 or minus one size of 175/65x14? Skinner is generally better for snow, but handling in the dry won't be as good.

I would actually do 185/60R15.

Although it won't be as cheap as 14", but tires will be cheaper than 195/55R15. The difference between the two 15" sizes are less than 2%. The general rule of thumb is that anything less than 3% will not make much of a difference on your speedo.

As for why I would use 15" instead of 14's? Well... "just incase" i want to upgrade my brakes for watever reasons. Also cause 15" looks a 'tiny' bit better than 14's.

So depending if those 'benefits' matter much to you, if not, 14" would be better overall.

Hope this helps!

I stuck with the same size as stock, adjusted for rim size - 185/65R14 (since I'm using my old Civic rims).

I haven't even thought of the 185/60x15 size. Those are good points.

I decided to go with 185/65 14 instead, just because of availability of tire sizes. We barely had our first snow in Toronto this week (nothing stays on the ground) and tire stores are all very busy. I hate to wait until the first real snowfall to try and get tires.

It looks like 185/65/14 is the ideal size for Sport owners to step down to 14" if you look at the tire/wheel size calculators.

I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to go with the winter tires to fit my Integra GSR wheels or step down to 14's. The cost of 195/55/15 winter tires are about as much as summer performance tires.

Do 185/60R15

Cost much less than 195/55R15.. so then, you can run your GSR wheels for winter!

the price difference between 14" and 15" and the various tire sizes, when i checked, was only about $20-$40CAD for a set so it's not alot

with that said, i went with stock 195/55-15 sized toyo snows, and they are very good in snow

lil wee fit: 14/15 is not going to matter, since any big brake will require at least 16s and lower offset rims.. you won't be able to use stock or steeles
