OK, here we go. I have dropped the Fit off with a builder to strip my interior and do my roll cage. Basically we're going to prep the car for COTA Super Lap Battle in February. That is less than 5 months away. The car is going to be transformed, as if it wasn't already... Car is going to get race seats, likely a race dash, full roll cage, fire suppression system, cool suit, lexan windows everywhere except the winshield, maybe a fuel cell, if not a wild diffuser. Roll cage will be built to connect to aero in the rear, NASCAR style door bars. Might be a few more surprises. Standby to standby. I will add pictures as they come up. @CarbonTek@evilchargerfan@elkaku@Myxalplyx@Revhappymatt@KTuner@Elpapas@Azuki
Sub'd and looking forward to seeing the progress updates! I got caught up on your build thread too, a ton of nice work and experimentation there.
How have you been liking the BC DS coilovers? They are my frontrunner choice right now, although I'm looking at the Swift base sprint rate of 5KG/4KG for what I'm hoping would be a tolerable ride on the street where it spends 100% of it's time..
They've been great! I run 10k front 8k rear springs. The shocks are valved for 6k 4k which is the basic DS values unless you specify otherwise. In that configuration I'd guess ride comfort would be suitable and the performance gains would outweigh any loss of creature comfort if you like sports suspension.
we left the dash in for now. I'm having all the panels stitch welded which means removing all the seam sealer. I think he's going to weigh it before the roll cage. I'm hoping for 2200lbs... roll cage could be up to 400 lbs... time will tell
That's awesome, fingers crossed you can hit your target weight. Looking at the pic that's probably where I'd leave it too unless you need to lose more weight for class purposes. I might have missed it, how much power were you able to extract from your built L15?
It's a shame the K swap hasn't really been figured out in North America yet. I assumed years ago when I saw the Axion threads that it would have happened by now, and for 5-10K depending on options we could have an easy 200-250+ WHP. With the Hasport mounts existing I'm sure getting it working on a standalone ECU isolated from the chassis harness as much as possible wouldn't be that hard, but getting it completely integrated into street car like mine would be a nightmare.
I am hoping for 220 hp. I haven't touched the car since building the motor six months ago. I still need to figure out my misfire problem. I am heavily leaning to stand alone computer.
Pulled the trigger last night on a Link G4+ GDI stand alone computer. Got the wiring looms as well. I will be adding in a power management module to get rid of all the OEM wiring as well as all the fuse boxes. This may wind up saving me another 50 lbs of weight when all is said and done... Hoping to have it wired up by March. Happy hunting!
Please tell me that you are using chromoly on your lovely car...
It will be chromoly, tig welded. I expect it to be much lower weight than the original estimate but I am adding a fire suppression system and a few other items (extending the cage to go "through" the decklid for the rear spoiler, fuel cell fire box, cool suit pump and reservoir, better mounting for the methanol injection system). @CarbonTek hit me up at dart.deanda@gmail.com, I'd like to buy some of your lower a arms if still for sale...
We have decided to turbo the car. Going with a GT25-660. Goal is 505 crank horsepower. Lots more work to do. Recent upgrades: Wilwood 6-piston calipers front, Fastbrakes custom wilwood rear disc brake setup. Just bought a Hardwire PDM15. Removed all internal wiring harnesses. Building a custom wiring harness for the Link G4 GDI ECU.

These are the projects that keep us thriving!!! Good luck!!!
Let us know jow it goes with the Link.... Im almost certain I'll go full programable also...
Wow! I obviously missed a change of plans. I thought this was going to be an N/A build?
The rules for global time attack and the crazy that we're building line up in the unlimited class. We will have to get as light and powerful as possible to remain competitive. Since I sleeved the block it should support boost even with the 12.5:1 pistons although I would have gone 10.5:1 had I known I was boosting from the start.
Here's a pic of more go fast goodies that came in this week...
