A/T Fits
auto mode works best. the ecu is error-proof, makes perfect shift points whereas the user may shift too early or too late, hurting your times. theres always trial and error. experiment, and see what works best.
I've run mine in an autocross - twice (one of those was earlier today!!) I just put it in S-mode, and let it do its thing. No way to shift with all the cranking around on the wheel. On a track I would do the paddles, but not in a parking lot.
Coincidentally, I've had some trouble downshifting from 2nd->1st with the paddles. Even though I try to wait until it's near 5 or 6 mph, it still feels really jerky. I've learned to just let the computer shift it down from 2nd -> 1st.
The A/T is supposed to be slower than the M/T. I think Car&Driver tested the M/T at 8.7 to 60 and the A/T at 10.4. I'm not sure if they used the paddles/auto when they tested the 10.4.
