On a 1.5 mile stretch of straight smooth cement, 102 ft above sea level, 19* Fahrenheit, 3 MPH cross wind, at 61*13' N 149*53' W, with zero mods in an '08 Fit Sport Auto I reached and maintained for 10 seconds 118 MPH.

The Fit is electronically limited to the speed of 116 MPH. I believe that in the Fit Talk section there was a discussion about this. As for the car going faster, I don't think so.

The Fit may have a some more running room in the gears, but in stock form (without the limiter) I couldn't the car possibly go much over 120; due to the power output and aerodynamic drag.

That seems accurate with what I saw at the test track. I noticed a difference of +/- 3 MPH between the speedometer, ScanGauge and the radar we used.

129 MPH eh? That sounds rather strange, do you have a photo of that?

Several people have reported speed over 116 in the other post... no limiter.

Good luck on figuring it out cause im sure not gonna find out for myself. haha. Everytime i get close to 100 something bad happens and i have to stop quickly due to wind, other cars, or animals. I just have bad luck at high speeds in the Fit.

so were gonna go with a drag limiter then...
nothing really to stop the car but the car itself

::smack:: "ouch!"
::smacks back:: "did you really just smack me back?"
(it would go something like that lol

If it "isn't always consistent" that goes to prove there is NO limiter. If there was an electronic, or physical limiter it would work the same every time just like your RPM limiter.

I suppose thats why it was removed by Hondata on my reflash? I guess they just removed nothing then.

I thought Hondata wasn't doing Fit reflashes. I feel so lied to.

They are doing a Reflash for the KW highboost kit, not for NA applications.

I think there are too many variables to be able to accurately test the top speed of a Fit. As far as the limiter goes, someone should get out the jackstands and see how high it will go with no drag and reduced resistance from friction.

!!!!-If anyone actually does this i swear i will come to your house and slap you up side your head with a 2x4 full of 10 penny nails- !!!!

I don't know why this subject is so intriguing to some of you. lol The Honda Fit is not a salt-flat speed setter, nor is it a "Race Car". The only place that you could even get it to top speed would be a 2 mile stretch of road which is not smart to begin with. Just let it be known that the Honda Fit will do Highway speeds with minimal effort, and no performance modifications. -Let be done at that-

Again, please do NOT perform the STUPID test i recommended as a joke! It is not safe AT ALL!!!
