I think it's because the gear ratios in the auto would (theoretically) allow it to have a much higher top speed than the manual, thus the need for a limiter. For example, at 80MPH the auto in 5th gear is at only 3,000RPMs, which is a good sight lower than the manuals at the saem speed. In Japan, most cars are limited from the government to 118MPH (look at the GT-R, from what I remember, unless it's on a track, the speed is limited to the same in Japan).

If I'd been on my motorcycle I could have got away, always did. this is my first speeding ticket in 27 years, and I am getting to old for this crap. I guess I might be setting a bad example for my grown grand kids, but I don't drink or smoke around them. I'm still trying to get going fast out of my system and it is something I can't outgrow. I thought buying an econo box would cure me and I get busted by a kid in a cowboy hat and mirrored sunglasses. Somethings never change, except that I was getting busted for the same thing by old farts when I was a kid. I think the dude didn't like my rock star length hair. But my speedo said 80 so it could have been worse, at least I scrubbed off a little speed before he timed me.
LOL. I'd gotten 3 tickets (all speed related) in about 6 months when I was driving my STi as a DD - killing me. I bought the Fit in 2/08 when gas was >$3/gal to save money and slow me down to keep me from losing my license. No tickets in almost a year...I love this car

Going by the speedo I've reached 125-130mph in my 08' mt. Only mod is ssr intake. And yes these were technically on public roads...but roads that no one uses anymore/only farmers mostly prolly 40-50mi. from anything you'd consider a town.

Hello Fit Dr. I have decided to feather foot and now use the cruise control and keep my right foot well away from the go fast pedal. Damned if it isn't hard to do though.

on a stock fit, uhmm... I had a 2008 fit which I only got two times to hit 105. The 2007 fit can't even go past 100 mph with a skunk exhaust and an intake, and a road bike... hard to believe you hit 125-130

next spring/summer I'll take a pic/vid for you guys then. I know I broke 120 and 90% I broke 125. Granted it took about 3-5miles to do this but yea. Once I hit 90-100mph though, it felt like forever to get any higher

it doesnt really take that long to get to 115ish but when you get there the car just stops, just like youre hitting the rev limiter. there is no way you went over 120 without any ecu mods.its just impossible.

Be sure to include two way run within 10 minutes with easily verified mileage markers that we can verify their separation distance.

they just never reached the limiter i.e. drag limit roughly equals elec limit

lies that an 07 fit cant get past 100. the only real performance mod i have is a lightened flywheel. i can get to 100 no problem and past it. if there was a speed limiter you wouldnt have everybody saying the fastest theyve gotten it is this and that.

it would be one top speed. have you ever drove a car with a speed limiter before? you reach a set speed and you cant get past it, on my old car the pedal would even start to lift. the fit just doesnt have the strength stock to get much past 115 with your basic mods.

its a forum, forums are for talking, debating, getting info, not for insulting people.

if you dont have any facts to back up your statements please do not resort to insulting people. in the end it will only make YOU look bad and your statements that much less believable. thx?
