Exclamation Just in from Detroit - NOW PICS IN GALLERY

Just got in the door from Detroit -
The U.S. Fit ROCKS! Looks cooler than ever big bumpers and all.
Too bad you can't get in the show cars though - all doors remain locked during the public part of the show
Saw how the paddle shifter works though - there's an "S" setting in the shift lever's gate that sends the functions to the wheel.
Also I'll have some pics that show the under bumper details - may give good insight as to whether or not some other body kits will ever work (JDM etc...)
All and all a sweet car ...
Yaris 3 door is just tooooooo small - looks smaller than an Echo in person (thought it was an EU market Aygo at first!) and the 4 door is about old Carolla size.
Versa seems like all other Nissan's - a bit Frenchie - I know they say U.S. designed but their interior reeks of Renault.
After seeing what the competition has to offer, I can say that Honda has opened a can of whoop ass in the Fit that will be at the top of the pile for awhile.

I was just about to say the same thing. Maybe some auto show security do hicky? Or a power inverter to make keep the lights functional without running down the battery.

Me gusta! It looks so Renault.

I spent a lot of time driving a Megane throughout europe.

Question

[QUOTE=fit_ness]Is the standard in your album dressed in Lunar Mist?

Unknown - they're pretty tight lipped at the show - no more info than the web sight at Honda.com right now...
But if I hade to guess it's the Mist ...that and what looks to be blaze orange are the only two on the floor for the public show....
I did get a cool decal but no hand out info on Fit yet.

locked

Cars were locked? That is so lame of Honda. While this is typical of lux cars (not that this is a lux car) at a lot of shows, most cars in Detroit are unlocked. This thing comes to market in what, a month or two? I was thinking of going to the show on Tuesday, but it is a long drive and they are talking about freezing rain. This will definitely help my decision to not go.

Was the Camry locked too?

Seriously!?!?!? C'mon, this is America...doesn't Honda know that we want to touch and feel everything before we consider making a purchasing decision!?!?
Can't believe they would lock the doors!!!!!!

How long is Honda going to continue to string us along considering this car is supposed to hit the showroom floors this April???????

Just doesn't make good sense.

At the LA auto show, they were open. I played around with the magic seats for about 15 minutes, people thought I worked for the booth.

OK then...I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed at the NY show. Getting a chance to sit in the car is all part of going to the show in the first place.

Just saw the pale Blue and orange Fit at the DC auto show. And I also couldn't believe they were locked. But better than nothing.

I am with you 100% on this one. and I'm even more miffed that the late arrival models at the LA show were open for general public viewing inside (per edmunds board). I feel short changed - maybe Honda can give us a "special" perk for remaining die hard fans, supporters and potential buyers?

Atleast you guys had the Fit. I just got back from the Midlands International Auto show (here in Omaha, NE) and they did not have the Fit. My GF was pissed because they did not have a Mini there either.

A few days ago I had seen your screen name, and for a goof tried to see if was an actual site and nothing came up. Must have been right before you launched on the 7th. :-)
