ThunderHill Day 01
For the previous post about using street tires at the track, I got my R-compounds for free... spending more money to get street tires just didn't compute. Also, I'm planning to just have fun, and have no aspirations to be the next Ayrton Senna. I'll be happy if the tires cover a few mistakes.
In hindsight, had i gone with street tires, i almost certainly would have reached the tires limits too early, and would have been frustrated. The driver of an NSX had squealy tires, low speeds, and seemed fully disheartened.
Also, Picked up Winziger #2 - a roadster! going to bring both the Fit and MX5 to Laguna on the 6th, and see how they compare.

I bought wheels from a friend, and they came with shaved tires with just enough life for a couple trackdays
. Not enough tread left to sell off easy. They were free in a manner of speaking.
I bought a pass for my brother and me, and we'll swap halfway.

With the likelihood of a few slow-ish people in solo, and required point-by's, you really couldn't get a full flying lap to achieve a quick time, and racing the clock would increase the probability of illegal/unsafe passes.
If you're interested to know the lap time for Fit in solo traffic, a stopwatch is a proven standby.

well when i was at button in june, i was in the solo class they allowed transponders. And as far as traffic, i strategically got onto the track late, after everyone had left so i had plenty of space to do hot laps.
just got the email that if i cancel now, i can get a full refund. I'll see if i'll still be going to this. Im guessing i still will though lol

made the decision, im gonna still run in this group w/o a transponder.

I know it's more like mid-July instead of mid-June now lol. Anyway I just test fitted my 225/45R15 NT01 with my kosei K1 15x7 +38mm offset. No rub even when the car is loaded with 4 big adults. Looking forward to try out the setup at Pacific Raceway next Sunday!

Yeah IF I ever run coilovers I will have to stick with 205. Anyway I'm just gonna try this setup this Sunday. If I don't like it enough I'm just gonna sell them to other local racers.
I will let u guys know more soon! I would gather all the info, lap time, pix & videos etc & make another thread.
Don't wanna keep going OT in this thread....
