I don't believe we have something like this on the forum, nor have I really seen one on any car related forum I frequent(ed).

What I am talking about is this, any roads that you have been on that have made you felt exhilarated about driving, post them up. Easy way to do so is grab a screen shot from Google Maps or whatever your fancy. Then post the map to here and explain where the road is located at. This will let other forum members by chance if ever in that area to possibly go experience the same fun you have had. And if not, they can live vicariously through your post(s).

Not sure how much interest this may garnish forum-wide and wasn't sure where to place it in the forum, but this seemed like the best possible place as some of these roads probably hold group drives or group drives could be set-up to tackle the roads.

I'll get this kicked off with a couple roads I have encountered here in mainland Japan and some I plan on getting to very, very soon.

I have to put up Google Maps images for these (can't do it from the office) but this is my really short list.

- Olongapo-Gapan Road (Dinalupihan, Pampanga - Subic/Olongapo City, Zambales)
- Marcos Highway (Agoo, La Union - Baguio City, Benguet)
- Caliraya Lake Hill Road (around Pagsanjan, Laguna)

All of them are hill or mountain roads.

Pacific Coast Highway/California Highway 1 is on my wishlist, though.

 

Going to hit that Romantic Highway this weekend. It's like 201km to get to it, but looking at the map there are other roads slightly before it that look like a ton of fun as well, Route 15 and 58 so maybe on the way back down hit those while I'm in the area. Should be a good drive.

Just altered the route I was going to take, instead will hit the 15, 58, 14 and 277 routes prior to the Romantic Highway. The Romantic highway is 2 lanes both in the same direction, 1 way up and 1 way down. The whole trip should be just under 300 miles in length. I'll try to snap photos while I am out, but won't guarantee anything as I hate stopping when the roads beg to be eaten up.
