Foothills Run, Dec 17th

Konig Feather and I will be giving a "Turducken" cooking class at 10 am in Stockton that Saturday. Shortly after the class consumes the sample "Turducken" for lunch, Henry and I are planning to take a run through the foothills in the Mother Lode Country.
Even with such short notice, Lilcat has confirmed that he will be joining us. So, anyone in the area is welcome to meet with us after lunch.
If you are interested in taking the class, or testing the "Turducken," and/or going for the foothill run, let us know.
Cheers,
-macbuddy-

We are meeting at 1:00pm:

Calvary Presbyterian Church
2343 Country Club Blvd
Stockton, CA

At 2:00 pm, we will go east on Hwy 4 up to the foothills. Here is the proposed route. We can stop in Murphys to take a break for food, and/or shopping:

Country Club Blvd, Stockton, CA to Stockton, CA - Google Maps

If anyone knows a more interesting route up to Copperopolis, let me know.

The roads get interesting after Copperopolis. Murphys will be an interesting stop for those that have not been there before. Lots of small shops and places to eat. The museum there is worth going through for History buffs.

Can't wait!

I like the route you planned Michael. I'm familiar with part of the route since I go snow skiing in the winter at Bear Valley. Can't wait to get a taste of that "Turducken" and take a drive through the rolling foothills.

Anyone in the bay area interested in a small caravan to Stockton from Dublin area? Maybe meet up at starbucks located in the Hacienda Crossings in Dublin around 8:30am and leave by 8:45am. If interested, please let me know by Friday evening.

Hope to see some cool Fits this Saturday.

Example of a Turducken...

Here is an example of what the students will create in the "Turducken" class.

When carved, you will see boneless Turkey, Duck, and Chicken, with stuffing between each layer.

My Bad...

Hey guys, I got a PM asking about registration fees to take the "Turducken" class. FYI, there is no fee to participate and/or watch. If anyone wants to come early, you are welcome to watch, and/or participate, and/or sample the finished product.
BTW, if you want to test the Turducken, just bring a fork and a plate!

Eyefone,
Yes this event took place as planned. About 15 people showed up for the class at 10 am. Three hours later, we all got to test out the sample Turducken.
When the tasting was done, 3 of us went on the Foothills run. Konig_Feather, Slimjimx701x and I had a great time pacing ourselves through the Motherlode backroads. We never had to go over the speed limit to enjoy this run. The route had plenty of turns and elevation to keep us smiling!

Sounds great. Waiting for the next time you all do this again. Hopefully I can make it out.
