I switched from an Accord wagon, but it had over 279,000 miles on it. Nice car, but I preferred my Civic wagon, which I sold with 160,000 miles -- should have kept it! Didn't know Honda would quit making Civic wagons. Then I discovered the Fit, and it's almost the Civic's reincarnation, but with more zip and better handling (Civic had rack & pinion). The Civic could carry an incredible amount of cargo, and I'd love to test out its versatility and room against the Fit and its magic seats. I posted the photos of the two side by side and I definitely see the family resemblance.

Went from a 99 MT Prelude to a AT 07 Fit base. (i shoulda or wanted to get a MT Fit but I needed a car right then as the Prelude had about $2k on repairs it needed).

Mostly happy with it. Love the Fit, still miss my Lude though.

went from a 1990 civic wagon, and yes the fit is the reincarnation of the civic wagon, just way more better.what I miss most about my old civic is not worrying about having it get a door ding or scratch. you see my fit is still a virgin..........when I get a chance I will upload some pics of all the stuff added on to my new fit VBP sport auto.

I think the electric steering and drive by wire makes the FIT really fun to drive.. When I have to switch back to my sister's Accord, I hate the feel of the pedal. I have to apply much more pressure to open up the throttle. The fit feels like the pedals from the arcades!

I went from a 96 accord EX to the FIT. Absolutely no regrets at all. I drive like a granny, so it works out great.

formy... how's the gas milage?! I have an Accord V6 & get 21 around town and 32 mpg on long trips; and it is quick. The Fit is great to drive and in some ways more fun to drive than my modified Accord... like 'em both. Even traded in a '78 Mustang 5L stick on my first Honda.

I went from 2004 Acura TL 6 speed manual(MAn this is a nice car) to a 07 Fit sport Auto... Definetly the FIT isn't as luxurious or fast. BUT. last night when I filled up the tank and only paid $23.. I had a big smile to my face!! compared to the $45-$50 fill up on the TL. Not to mention my car payments are cut in half too!

This is my old ride. A 2004 honda accord sedan exl 2.4l IVTEC 5speed manual. I had about 30,000 miles when I traded her in. Was a great car! I had a full body kit on it. Jdm black projector headlights with halo's. JDM black tail lights from TYC. Aem cold air intake. Tom's motorsport catback exhaust. 20% tint all around. Was the only accord I've ever seen like this around my area. I loved it but I would gladly trade it in again for my fit. I love my fit. Personally the funnest car I ever owned. Here's the only pic I could find of the accord.

What do ya's think?

I "downgraded" from a Jetta GLS VR6 (metallic silver, moonroof, nice stereo) because I got tired of repairing it and feeding it premium gas @ 20-22 mpg and 7 quarts of synthetic per change. I still have it, but it barely gets used. The Jetta battery is dying again (even after alternator replaced), and 2 microswitches are unreachably jammed (inside driver's door, e-brake assembly) -- affecting starting the vehicle and headlights.

Doodads that I notably miss:
doors that autolock at 10mph, and
doors that unlock by just trying to open them from the inside
variable intermittent wipers
windshield that never fogs up on the inside
center sunshade that folds down
left foot rest
soft alarm-set honk

Things I like about the Fit over Jetta VR6:
it's a hatchback
better mpg on regular gas
oil change maintainence is a lot easier
it better not live in the shop 4 weeks each year!
cheap

I almost bought a loaded Audi A3, but I couldn't bring myself to buy another VW/Audi vehicle. Reliability nightmare! I can buy pretty much any car I want, but it seems to me that cars are just a money pithole, so I went with economical yet respectable.

I went from an '04 Accord EX-L (4-cyl/AT).

I just picked up my Fit last night. Not sure if I'm going to stay with it.

downgrade

Sold my fully loaded 1999 AT Civic EX for a MT sport Fit. Totally worth it. I think I'm done with trying to make my ride faster than stock. I don't race so why give up the mileage for more power.

What don't you like about your new fit? I just ask because I traded in a 04 Accord EX-L (4-cyl/5 speed manual) for my fit. I love my fit much better than the accord. The accord was a great car don't get me wrong but the fit is much more fun to drive and handle's so much better. Well good luck with your new fit. Hopefully you won't get rid of it so quick!

I'm not incredibly fond of the Accord, and the Fit is a ton more fun to drive (handles far, far better, as you said). My "but" is that it's very uncomfortable for me. At 6'3", I have long legs, and the absence of a dead pedal (I know Zeta products sells one) and no place to really rest my right leg (not a ton enough clearance under the steering wheel). This isn't as bad when the seat is all the way back, but then the steering wheel is at the extreme of my reach, which creates fatigue in my shoulders/back. The seat also doesn't offer much lumbar support, and my back needs that.

These are things that I didn't notice until I pulled my hour-long commute for a couple of days.

I'm kinda ****ed since I financed a fair amount of this car, and I'm not sure what I can do now.
