Gauge Self-Diagnostic

http://www.hondafit.ru/service-manua...000BBAT00.HTML

found this in the on-line Fit manual found on here. of course anyone who has looked at that manual knows that the highest year is goes to is 2005, so it may not work, just wondering if anyone was interested in trying this out.

remember to view this, you gotta use IE...

I don't have IE, but (from the service manual via the speedometer accuracy thread) here's the method for 2007 NA:
1. Press and hold the trip reset button until step 5.
2. Turn the lights on.
3. Turn the key to position II.
4. Turn the lights off, on, and off. Take between 2 and 5 seconds.
5. Release the trip reset button, then press it 3 times within 5 seconds.

looks to be the same procedure. here are the tests that are performed:

The Beeper Drive Circuit Check

When entering the self-diagnosis mode, the beeper sounds five times.

The Indicator Drive Circuit Check

When entering the self-diagnosis mode, the indicator lights blink.
The following indicators blink:
Seat belt indicator light, Coolant high temperature warning light, Coolant low temperature warning light, Low fuel indicator light, Brake system light (without ABS).

Switch Input Check

After the intermittent beeper sounds at the initial stage of self-diagnosis, a beeper sounds continuously while any of the following switch inputs are switched from OFF to ON.
The following switches cause the beeper sounds:
Seat belt switch, Trip/reset switch.

The LCD Segment Check

When entering the self-diagnosis mode, the odo/trip segments and outside air temperature segment blink five times.

The Gauge Drive Circuit Check

When entering the self-diagnosis mode, the speedometer, the tachometer, and the fuel gauge needles sweep from the minimum position to maximum position, then return to the minimum position.

NOTE:
After the beeper stops sounding and the gauge needles return to the minimum position, pushing the trip/reset button starts the Beeper Drive Circuit Check (one beep) and the Gauge Drive Circuit Check again.
The check cannot be started again until the gauge needles return to the minimum position.

If a needle fails to sweep or the beeper does not sound, replace the gauge control module.
