A few weeks ago, I found the following part sitting on the front passenger floor of the cabin of our 2008 Honda Fit Sport.




I'm assuming it has some relation to the ventilation system in the cabin; however, we have had no luck in identifying it from system diagrams or in looking on retailer sites for parts related to the heating and air conditioning. The >PE-HD< SLN code imprinted on it hasn't helped either.

Can anyone identify what this is so that we can reinstall it where it belongs? I'm stumped!

I ask because I looked down today on the passenger floor of my 2008 Fit (233,000 miles) and found the same part. I know this thread is over a year old but where’d this thing come from and how do you reattach it?

 

After having the same issue and spending a while digging and finding nothing helpful. I got someone I knew to look at their put together fit and we found it.


Passenger side air duct location

To get it lined up look to the far right side very near to the bottom panel of the center. There is a rectangular gap that the foam side fits on. The plastic snap will then line up with a hole in the metal frame.
