paint
Painted mine with red dupli-color high performance on my Milano Fit. Looks good. Might post up pictures when it stops raining in Washington... which is never!
Nice man can't wait to see the pics. I want to paint mine red as well. Im going to buy the type R emblems so i figured it would be a nice touch to match them. I think it will look good on a VBP fit. I also just purchase some buddy club wheels just waiting for them to get here! With the new wheels you will see more of the caliper. Thats why I want to paint them.
To put all of this in to perspective, I read in Super Street where this was a tuner no-no. In my opinion, it looks nice, but really is a faux paux. Their reasoning, along with mine, is that it will bring out how small your calipers REALLY are.
I know that there aren't any upgrades that would really show off large brembo's or such, but if you are doing it for a show, cool...Otherwise, in my opinion, yanking them off and getting them powdercoated is the way to go. they will last forever with powdercoat and brake fluid won't eat at the powdercoat like it would with paint.
Sorry if it is rash and people want to stab me with a spork...Just putting things into perspective.

brakes
Dupli color paint has been on for over year. Doesn't even need to be retouched. I agree that the fatty Brembo brakes do look nice. However, since this is a mini car, I don't mind the small brake look. Besides I'm not going to show or race my car professionally. Just wanted something cheap and nice looking for $10. Once I make the big bucks when I'm older then I'll probably invest in some better looking brakes.
brake fluid does not eat most of the brake coatings. plus, if brake fluid is leaking, you have other problems to worry about.
for those that do not want to use spray type of paint, there is an easier approach. Duplicolor sells a brush type of paint kit at Autozone. its very easy to apply. I went with Gloss black. Color has stayed on for over a year now with no chipping.

On both my CR-V and Acura I used G2 caliper coatings. Here are pics of the red on the V:

The Acura, being my wife's car, got the staid, conservative Silver. That has been on for four years now, still looks new.
PS I have seen rear brake drums painted...and HATED it.
Do the fronts calipers in a snazzy color, but leave the rears black.

I just sprayed some brake cleaner on the calipers, wiped them down, let dry, and then spray painted them with some engine high temp black. I mean even if it doesnt last, you can always do it again...especially with the color black. I chose black because now you cant tell that the calipers are dirty.
I have never found dirt buildup to be an issue, even on the Acura's calipers 4 years after painting with G2. A nylon brush with long bristles like this one is all it takes to keep the calipers (and wheels) clean when washing the car.

PS We haven't had the Fit even a week yet, but the '06 CR-V has very little brake dusting...Honda must use ceramic pads on that car.

When I painted my rims blue I found some flat black paint in my garage. It wasnt even high temp.
Painted them. I wanted them to blend in rather than stand out. No need to show off the crazy huge drums in the rear.
