Cleaner Wax or Clay bar,,,,,

So I got to work and the car was plastered with bugs . I usually am able to wash it off and put the cover on it before work starts but was unable to this time and the bugs have sat on there for 5 days now. I washed it but can still see a few bug marks on the hood and rear view mirrors.
So do I try cleaner wax first or go buy a clay bar to get ride of them?

is a clay bar more, or less aggresive to the paint than cleaner wax

You should get a clay bar period; they're great and should be used every time you feel your paint get rough. The clay bar makes it feel like glass. It does nothing to the clear coat or paint, it simply removes small particles that are embedded in the finish and other impurities. Use plenty of the lubricant with it (you can make your own with water and car wash soap instead of the expensive stuff they try to sell you). You'll love the bar, just keep kneading it so you have a clean surface to work with.

Paint cleaner is definitely more rough than a clay bar, since it has abrassives in it.

so you can't "over use" a clay bar?
and then can you clean the bar or just get a new one?

The bar "cleans" your paint without affecting your clear coat, since it doesn't contain abrasives. You can really clean the bar, but you can knead it to produce a clean surface, while the dirt hides inside the bar. You can probably use it 3/4 times before replacing it.

Run your hand over a clean surface of your car to see if it feels like glass. If not, then you can use the bar. You'll feel the difference, and see it.
