Rust and other issues

Not sure if this is the right thread to post this but anyways I called the dealership today that i bought my fit from to schedule them to look at it because im having a few issues with it.First off it seems like a lot of people are having rattling in there dash and i am also having this issue so im gonna see what they can do about it cause its driving me CRAZY! haha 2nd issue is i seem to have like 5 or 6 small rust spots on the hood. At first when i saw 1 spot i wasnt concerned cause i was going to get a carbon fiber hood eventually but i just dont have the cash to do it now. I looked at the car this morning and it seems there are more spots and i just dont want them getting worse. Im hoping it will get covered by warranty but from what i read in the manual it probably wont... so im not sure what to do about this issue. The 3rd deal is just with the recent recall that i got in the mail about having that harness switched out. Sooo anyways hopefully everything works out. I know people are having issues with the dash rattle but is anyone else having issues with rust? And how about did you fix it? Im just concerned cause ive had this car for not even a year and its gettin rust...

Stone Chips will be more prevalent on the Fit because of the shape and position of the hood (bonnet). For now, be sure to apply touch-up paint whenever you see a chip.

To protect the hood, install a ClearBra or Armorfend type product.

yes or get 3m as recommended above so you won't get any stone chips. I feel it protects better and doesn't change the look of the car.

I've had 3m on 3 different cars and have always been very happy with it. It's not quite as expensive as the cf hood but it's still a bit costly.

I would recommend at least the front part of the hood and fenders as well as your mirrors if you go ahead and apply some type of stoneshiled like 3m.

by the way the dealership just called me and told me i could come pick up my car, they said they fixed the recall issue and fixed the rattling in the dash but they never said anything about the rust so i have a feeling that ill have to try and fix that myself.... fun.

Generally, yes. If the chip is down to bare metal put a dab of primer on first (you can buy that at an autoparts store or home store such as Lowes)

If the metal isn't showing, a dab of topcoat is all you need.

Once or twice a year, I use the LANGKA to smooth the paint blobs.

For the invisible bra, search the Web for 3M PAINT PROTECTION or ARMORFEND or INVISIBLE BRA or SCOTCHGUARD. You might get prices from a window tinting shop or the Yellow Pages.
