Rear Night Running Lights broken...
Rear Night Running Lights broken...
Hello all,
I am trying to wire my fit for a utility trailer with a T-One kit. I have successfully wired the vehicle, but while diagnosing a problem with the trailer wiring, I think I may have blown the fuse for the rear running lights by shorting the brown lead.
The symptoms are:
No rear running lights when the lights are set to on.
Headlights, brake lights, blinkers, etc. are fine.
No voltage on the brown trailer wire when lights are on.
I checked all the small fuses, and they look fine. Does any one have any idea what fuse this circuit is on? Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Cassidy

I know this is an old thread but I think I have the answer. A way back in the 60s I was trying to wire my Austin 1100 for my tent trailer. I had similar problems in that could get all the lights working properly but not all at same time.
It turns out you have 3 lights/circuits on the car - brake, running and signal. On the trailer you have two - running and the other is a combo of brake/signal. So I needed to add a small pair of lights to the trailer to act as signal. Geez I spent a day on it before realizing the problem.
