Help! Weird Noise !!!

when i put in my key on I the twist it to II before i start the engine my FIT makes this weird noise... sounds like an electrical / cloth tear or something.. under my FIT it does that every time .... is this normal ? and what is it ... the sound can be heard when i leave the door open and surronding areas have no sound... it's very noticable... should i be worried? ... thanks!

Hey cKranez-
U could always take it to the dealer on your day off or something to check what the issue might be.....should be under warranty.
But to answer your question, no that is not normal

a fellow poster said its the fuel pump and its normal ... err who to believe!?

Fuel pump for sure and it's completely NORMAL. If you don't like to hear it there is only two ways to fix the problem... REMOTE STARTER or TURN UP YOUR RADIO.

Not normal. Usually, when you hear a noise like that, it means there's a loose connection in the circuit. In the long run, it's going to wear out the connection between the conductors. I would be worried if there were flamable gasses around.

i second claymore, i have that sound too since the day i got my car, and is on all my friends jazz as well.

Just like everyone's said it's just the fuel pump priming itself. The gas tank on the fit is between the driver and passenger seats, NOT in the rear of the car like most vehicles. So it's more audible than most cars.

Its seriously just the fuel pump. Its totally normal. Nothing to worry about.

it's soooo normal.. just the fuel pump.. even that sound become my indicator that the system works well.. ^^

because i had a time when i didn't hear that noise, n that's right.. my fuel pump doesn't work, because a shorted fuse..

So worry when you don't hear it.

yup.. you're right.. haha.. actually i hear the same noise in other car, but usually it so small in volume but you can hear it..

that's why i let that noise gone first then i start the engine..
