I just got off work yesturday and was in a rush to get home to wash my car and noticed sap on the roof of the car. I thought it was water and touched it with my finger but it was super stucky.

I also noticed when washing was a small paint chip on the roof of my car also and it had rusted. i was going to get a small needle and pick the rust out, clean it and then put some touch up paint over it.

what do you guys suggest i do for both problems.

 

As far as rust goes, I think your idea is fine.

For the sap, try a bug/tar remover. Be sure to wash and wax the roof as well.

 

WD40 also works on sap, but you'll need to wash it off real well and re-wax.

as far as the chip, sound good. should primer it but usually the paint
will adhere pretty well without.

 

the touch up shud b fine, covers up the rust.. as for the sap, u cud clay the roof an while ur at it do the rest of the car an re wax it cos ur removing the wax wen u clay...
