Interior scratch fix?
Interior scratch fix?
I had my dog's crate in the back and took a sharp turn. The crate slid and made a scratch in the plastic inside the trunk. It isn't awful but if there's a way to fix it, I'd love to.
So the panel can be replaced? Nice to know. I'm still getting some no-slip mats for underneath the crates but I won't be too uptight loading gear back there if the piece can eventually be replaced.
Pretty much anything in the back can be replaced, it may not be the cheapest thing in the world, but it can be replaced.

This is something I have though of, but have not had time to try myself yet. Similar in principle to the repair pencils they sell for laminate flooring. Get yourself a crayon that matches the interior color and fill it in. Only possible drawback may be when it gets really hot the wax MAY melt, then again it may not. Its a simple and cheap attempt at least.
a simple solution that a detailer friend showed me for light scratches on the interior plastic (without paint!!) is to light a lighter near the scratch. run the flame parallel to it without touching but near the scratch.you'll then see the edges on the abrasion curl up. dab the scratch with a ballpen cover then run the flame again. this should lessen the visibilty of the scratch

intead of a lighter why not just use a heat gun with the appropriate
nozzle?
its going to look a little shiny though because the texture will become
smoother in the surrounding area.
