Of course the more you step on your gas the lower your MPG will be. No cat will also reduce MPG. Drive the speed limit and you will see better mileage. I avg about 37-38 mpg with me driving and about 32ish when my girl and I both drive it. She has a heavy foot like you.

I LOT of fuel economy is how you drive. Driving slower helps(gives me an extra 4-6mpg) when I have the will power to do it. The other thing that helps is to stay off the brake as much as possible. Any time you use the break you are wasting momentum and lowering mpg. Some breaking can't be avoided, but you should coast (let off the gas) to slow down as much as possible.

also, be sure your tires are aired up.

Econo car = econo driving.

When I drove my Fit like my old Integra mpg sucked. Once I adjusted my driving habits, I never saw mpg dip below 30.

i struggle to keep my foot off the floor. i love going fast... Fit prolly wasnt the best choice if i wanted speed, but with the right mods it can go fast. i always rev up and my milage sucks. My mods are B-ixenon HIDS headlights Xenon HID fogs, Clarion flip-up 7-inch touch-screen, Ps2, Infinity Kappa Doorspeakers all 4 and tweeters, pushbutton start, Viper 5900 alarm w/remote start, 20% tint, shaved emblems, and tinted taillights.

no offense but none of the mods you listed have anything to do with speed?

I drive like a grandpa and I only manage 32-36mpg every fillup. I have 16's though, so with 15's I'd probably get 35-40 every time. I'd say stop driving so hard. The transmission pisses me off if I drive it hard, but if I drive like a slowpoke it doesn't fight with me as much.

its ur driving habits, u should accellerate nice and smoothly, not jam the gas pedal like ur racing in a nascar race

the only time i dont drive slow is when i have to get on the on ramp for the freeway, b/c ppl in LA, drive f***in crazy and try to cut u off when ur well into the merging lane already

Don't rev high. Stop driving 80-85 oh the highway. Keep that to at or under 70mph unless necessary. I don't hypermile or anything, but I don't gun it ('cept for here and there. Gotta love that Megan + intake)
I've gotten below 30mpg only twice, and the last time was more than a year ago.

Yup, that's decent MPG if you drive hard, I've gotten as low as 16mpg on my car driving it hard, using the paddle shifters, and doing enough track to know that it's normal to get low MPG if you drive hard.

Not sure why you expect to get EPA MPG ratings, when you are obviously not driving to EPA's standards.

I get between 35 and 40, I hardly let my Fit rev above 3k, unless I'm on an onramp or something like that. Ease up a little and you'll notice a little change.
