Turbo timer install questions

I bought an apexi turbo timer and still have yet to install it (mostly cuz i'm lazy) and i was wondering if i need some sort of plug n play wire harness or can i just start cutting wires and hook it up that way.
oh and if anyone has ever done this before i was hoping to find like a do it yourself guide.. or something..
thank you.
