Marks on wheels from snow chains!!

Hello all. After using snow cable/chains/whatever on my fit during the snow storm we had in the NW, the cables left some pretty serious marks on my wheels. This is where the rubber tensioning ring in the center made contact with the wheel, so I am not sure if this is rubber left over the clearcoat of the wheels, or if they are just scratches. Any similar experiences? Any solutions??? Im thinking either detailing clay or paying someone to polish it out...


That is the type used, but for the fits tire size of course...

I guess it is somewhat hard to tell, but in person when rims are clean it looks quite ugly. These are common chains so I'm hoping someone has some info...

well the wheels arent polished, so if you polish one, itll look funny
