no problem
there's better low/mid range throttle response compared to the fujita short ram intake i had before and there's a little bit more noise. however, the gutted intake box falls flat after 4.5k rpm -- where the short ram would show its best gains.

i drive like a granny and seldom go past 4k rpm so the gutted intake box + high flow filter set up works best for me.

Thank you m8, I'll end up smoothing the inside of mine, add a panel filter (pipercross) and a larger duct, as the standard one is really thin!

I'm intrigued by the idea of covering the intake tract from grill to filter box with something like gold-plated survival blanket insulation. Fairly cheap, light, and relatively easy to do -- and completely reversible. This would be kind of the ultimate cold air intake.

has anyone opened up the piping from the fender to the airbox?

i've got a 2.5" pipe coming to put between the airbox and tb... thinking about opening the snorkel to a full 3"...

some good things going on in this thread...

No, but I'm intrigued in that since I bought myself a larger TB.

BTW, any pics of your pipe?

Is your TB drive by wire or cable actuated.... I know some models sold elsewhere have cable actuation and we don't here.

It's manufactured by Bosch here in EU, standard in many many german cars (in this case it comes from an Audi).

There is a place on line that sells reconditioned throttle bodies manufactured by Bosch.... Do they work properly with the stock Honda drive by wire throttle control signal or is what you have cable actuated mechanically.

Texas, my TB is driven by wire only the connector in EU jazz differs from that one in USA.
GBaby I just thought of sharing an approach, since nothing has yet be done.

basically, you gut the oem air-box so you have something similar to a chambered cold air intake.

grab a dremel and remove anything that interrupts airflow, sand down any rough spots, replace OEM paper filter with a high flow filter, done. it only costs $30 if you get the k&n filter.

i've had this set-up on my Fit for almost 2 years now and haven't had a single problem. even cops looking straight into the engine bay can't tell the difference.

I hate to be off topic and apologize..... jazzista, a different connector would be necessary either way I would suppose. I imagine there would have to be air and fuel ratio changes made by way of a stand alone tuning device like the AEM FI/C. I hope you will share how using the Bosch throttle body turns out and what modification were done to get it working.

Yes but it sucks the warm air inside engine bay. Autospeed suggests to add a duct, so to have a second CAI to pre-existing airbox. But now I can't remind if we have room enough under the airbox to add a hole and a duct...

I opened up the air cleaners on a couple of VW diesels and had a muffler shop put a larger free flowing pipe an muffler on one of them.... The low frequency drone when driving through a mall parking lot would set off every car alarm in the thing..... That was a lot of fun during the Christmas shopping season..... This is a great thread that should have happened a long time ago.
