Removing rear bumper black rubber protection piece

I had this put on when I bought the car. It was expensive too like all their accessories.

I have decided it does nothing to the rear look. I do not use it either as afraid stuff would slip anyhow and get the paint.

So would it be easy to just pull off? Am I looking at possible paint damage? I am sure will have some residue to remove. As it has only been on since July should not have too much paint discolouration around it.

Thanks for comments.

You can use hair dryer or heat gun to warm it up and slowly peel it out. Color might be mismatch but leave it for a couple weeks should not be noticable since your car is still new.

There are a couple sticker remover solvents out there. These would remove some residues.

Good luck,

its most likely held on by some sort of adhesive... (not sure so dont quote me on it )

but try goo off... the one i used to take my fit badge off, and it was safe for the paint...

Thanks for the tips. I will try heating it. RIght now it is well below freezing here so it will be awhile before I attempt it.

I would use the word "WARM" it up instead of heating it. Hair dryer would be a better choice than heat gun. Just go slowly.

Right. Don't want to cook it.

Once you remove the piece, BE SURE to apply wax over the area, especially if you used some form of solution to remove it. This will not only clean off slutions but protect your baby's skin!
