Ordered the parts today to go from slave hardline to master:

PerformanceParts4Less.com (do not order from this place!) I placed my order twice with this place with nothing but trouble from them...

part number : FBPA0039-24 (24" SS line w/90* end)
vendor : Aeroquip
price : 10.99
EDIT: Northern Auto Parts for $20.91 shipped (buy here)

part number : 641411 (Brake Adapter Fitting; Metric; Female; 10mm x 1; -03AN)
vendor : Russell
price : 13.99
total plus shipping and tax came out to $38.10(free ship, but 13.99 "handling")
EDIT: AMAZON for $16.43 shipped (buy here with prime account)

ANPlumbing.com

Part number : 305-03M121 (12mm; -03AN)
vendor : Goodridge
price : 14.99

total plus shipping and tax came out to $23.65(same thing with this place... almost 2X the price of the part to get it to your door)

So real total to get everything to my door was $ 60.99

This is now at the very top of my list. I've been scratching my head trying to figure this out since I bought my car!

Now that I know it's there it's even more infuriating when I release the pedal to a certain point and then wait for the stupid CDV to catch up! You can really feel it. I even took my car to the mechanics and complained of miss-shifts and a "spongey" clutch whereby I was told things were "working as intended."

I've gotten to the point where I over-rev at a stop light just to get the car moving while wondering how Honda let a car with no bottom torque at all (supposedly, until I read about the CDV) off the assembly line!

Thanks for the awesome write-up!

It totally did! I want to thank you for the awesome write up once again! Coming off the line is so much easier and the RPMs don't droop so badly in 1st as when the CDV was doing its thing. Plus, when draining the old fluid it was totally bad and had air bubbles in it, making the clutch fail to disengage as fast as it should when pressing the pedal in. Miss shifts be damned!

Anyone in Canada do this swap? I have been trying to track the fittings down through a Canadian supplier but so far no luck.

SO far it looks like ill have to get everything shipped from the states with ridiculous shipping costs.

I have one of the adapters from the two-pack left over (I did Willard's version where I keep the OEM hardline to the slave cylinder). I'll send it to you if you want to go that route.

Did you do the install yet? Just curious if 20" is long enough. Thanks for the info!

Yea 20" is plenty. Also forgot to say when I ordered the parts from ANpluming they didnt have the 10mm inverted flare fitting in stock but were able to sub it out with a crimp on fitting instead.

Hello everybody! I'm new at the forum. I have a really serious problem with my GD8 clutch and I don't know what to do. I'm suspecting that the responsible of troubles is the CDV. I just want to change the CDV, not the entire line, is it possible? Is there a forum where it be explained?

Hey guys,

I got the parts to do this conversion and got a problem. The -3 AN to 12mm x1.0 fitting I got from ANPlumbing is convex and not concave. I called them and they only sell one and that's the convex one. Did I get the right part? In the instructions it says inverted male adapter, I assume this is the convave one. However, I can't find this part anywhere.

--3an to 12mm x 1.0 inverted male adapter... either 305-03M121 at anplumbing.com

Its not called the correct name here. The stock hard line has a bubble end that is pushed down into the seat.

The part number you need is correct.

Hi Kylerwho,

Thanks for the reply. So the part I got:

305-03M121P -3 12mmX1.0 12 MM X 1.0 Male Bubble Flare To -3 Male. Steel 14.99

Is the right fitting? I was looking in the MC adapter and see that the inside is a convex so I thought the the -3AN to 12mm x1.0 Male fitting would need to be concave to be able to seal with the adapter.

This is what my mechanic says. The connection from the original hard line to the MC adapter is an inverted flare. The part that's listed from ANPlumbing is a bubble flare so it's the wrong connection. 305-03M121P -3 12mmX1.0 12 MM X 1.0 Male Bubble Flare To -3 Male. Steel 14.99. I don't know if ANPlumbing shipped the wrong part or if you guys got a different part from them because I'd need -3 12mmX1.0 12 MM X 1.0 Male with inverted flare. The guys at ANPlumbing says they've only sold the Goodridge 305-03M121P -3 12mmX1.0 12 MM X 1.0 Male Bubble Flare To -3 Male. Steel 14.99. So I'm not sure where you guys got the right part from?!?

Its been almost a year now since I did the swap using those part numbers. Im pretty sure the fitting I got was convex on both sides. Im going to be doing my clutch soon so maybe I can pull it all apart and snap some pictures.

Hey Geopat,

Thanks for replying. So you used 305-03M121P AN Thread: -3 Metric Size: 12mmX1.0 $14.99 and it worked? I have this part and like you said both side are convex. But you installed it and it worked?

Hey guys,

Reviewing an old thread I found the following from lcq4blackstar:

Apexanimal, here is what they had to say about P/N#305-03M121

"pull the inverted brass nipple insert out of the cylinder and it will be bubble flare and work fine with this part"

EARLS Store #1
http://www.ANplumbing.com
310 542 6435

I wonder if this was done and where is this inverted brass nipple I need to remove? Is it in the master cylinder or in the master cylinder connector?
