Another GPW NSX Refreshed by Tru_Shine *One Step Polish*
Hey everyone!
I got a chance to detail another GPW Acura NSX. I love these cars and I love working on them. This one wasn't as bad as the first one. It only needed a 1 step polish, the Honda clear coat is real soft and was easily corrected with Meguiars M205 and a LC tangerine pad.
But lets get this thing started and I will explain a little more as we go through.
This is the car the car when I arrived.
I began by spraying the wheels down with some Chemical guys diablo wheel gel. (this wheel cleaner is OK? I bought it because of its pH balanced cleaning abilities and how safe it is on all type of wheels) After I finish off this gallon i probably wont be buying any more.
It's always important to strip off any old wax's and sealants just to make sure you are correcting the tru paint surface and not the wax. It can make a correction job VERY difficult to correct when you have layers and layers of wax on the surface. I use DAWN ultra concentrate to help with this.
This is the first time I get to try out my new Small Karcher pressure washer. So far this thing is awesome! very small and compact and mobile. Lets just hope it doesn't crap out on me for a while.
I used it along with the Karcher Foam gun, I used the DAWN for soap.
I let the Foam dwell for a little bit letting it pull all of the dirt off whille it runs down. the less you have to wipe on the car with dirt the less scratches you will have.
Once the foam has done it's job. I used a Bucket w/ a grit gaurd and a 100% sheep skin mitt to wash with.
Then rinsed.......
while washing the car, the Diablo wheel gel has been dwelling and it is time to scrub the wheels. I used various brushes to do this.
So After drying off the car, I pulled it into the garage and one cool thing about this customer is that he had a lift! I was pretty excited that I didn't have to be bent over for the next 8 hours.
Next I began taping off all of the plastic moldings.
Then I clayed the car using some Show room shine and Blue Clay magic claybar.
So before choosing my final combo, I tried out a couple of different combinations.
I ended up choosing a Lake country Hydrotech Tang pad with Meguiars M205 polish. Since the Honda clear coat it soft enough. I reached the amount of correction I was shooting for.
I love having a car at my height. it makes the job so much easier.
Next I polished all of the lips of the wheels and the exhaust tips
Then I lowered the car to finish polishing the roof.
As I was finishing up on the NSX, the other White NSX that I done a Full correction to, showed up to get the oil changed. So we swapped out cars and I finished the sealant stage over to the side.
What a cool sight huh?
So I applied some Black Fire Wet diamond sealant to the car via Flex 3401 and LC blue finishing pad.
After it cured I then wiped it off. I love how easy this stuff wipes off. after that many hours of hard work, no one wants to fight wax to be removed.

I Just use one pad. The polishing stage isn't hard on the pads, and this Honda clear coar is VERY soft and doesn't take that much force to cut it.
