Driver's side window problem?

My driver's side window on my 2008 won't go up or down. Has anyone else had this problem? I thought it had to do the window switch recall but the dealer said it doesn't, and since they want $100 just to look at it, i told them to get bent! Any help would be appreciated before i start ripping off the door panels.

Most likely causes would be:
- broken actuator
- blown fuse
- switch on the fritz

Only the fuse would qualify as a "no ripping of door cards" inspection point though. If it's still in one piece you'd have to get cute with your door card and taped screwdriver.

I had already checked the fuse, it's fine. The window would sometimes work once in a while. I guess I'm going to have to rip the door panel off

i've done a repair by myself, hope this can help..

yes, you must open the door panel, after you open the panel, try to operate the window, if the motor is hot, than nothing is wrong with the system and that gives you the answer, the window could be jammed, maybe because of dirt or rust on the window rail try using a silicone sray at the rail, or lithuim grease, after i did that to mine it's fine till now..

When I pulled the motor out it only wants to turn in one direction (like it is rolling the window down) it won't change directions when I pull up on the switch. The only way to stop it is to turn the key off. Could the switch be my problem?
