oil/filter preferences?

I would use 10w30 M1, its factory fill for the turbos. It can withstand the heat of the turbo and the high temps where you live. Turbos need the extra protection and the oil thickness is not to thick. Mobil 1 Heat Protection

Turbos require better oil, a N/A motor requires 0-5W20 but would not use in a turbo motor. Joe Gibbs Driven - Training Center Good info on oil but disagree with the frequent oil changes.
