A-Spec Header "Rasping"

Just installed the header and it's producing a nasty rasping sound whenever the gas pedal is pressed. I reused the gasket, heatwrapped/coated the header, and tightened the bolts. Does anyone know how to get rid of this?

I guess it was the donut gasket from the header. re-positioned it and that solved the problem. Sounds so much better now. Hope i never have to do this installation again.

Hey there,

Would you want to make a review for this header? How easy was the installation and how's the fitment? Where did you order it and how much?
Any before and after differences?

Thanks in advance!
JM

bought this off another member for $200. Installation was fairly easy although it did take me 2 days (at night) to do it with a friend of mine. Getting the bolts off was the hardest part of this installation, especially with so little room to work at. in a perfect world, the header would fit on perfectly, and surprisingly it did. The Fit was perfect and bolting it back on was a breeze.

Now owning it for almost 2 months, the header does make a difference when driving 60mph+, and does feel stronger mid range. But I also noticed a big drop on MPG. I was not happy with that at all, so i was gonna get a tune after finishing my intake setup. It was not until last week, when I got my oil changed with synthetic oil, and that was the key (i did my header install during my first cycle from regular oil to synthetic). I noticed that my exhaust was louder and responsive again. MPG's right back where they are supposed to be, so overall very happy with this purchase.

Nice. By louder, do you mean nice loud or rice loud? And are you running a full aftermarket exhaust or still oem? Any vids?

I'm really interested in this piece because the price of the T1R seem to be too steep for me if it gives almost the same amount of benefit.

I'll get the video up when i get a chance. should have it somewhere on my phone. It sounds nicely, not ricey. running everything stock except the apexi n1 evo cat i bought off another FF member and luckily it isn't loud at all, despite its monstrous size.
