ok thats weird... the #8 fuse in the bonnet says "back up", then there's another one inside the cabin fuse box, #1 says "back light". the #1 fuse in the cabin was the one that was actually blown. replaced it and lights are working again. lols.

man, the reverse light leds i purchased from ebay seems to blow the 10a fuse. these are only 7watts compared to the oem 21watt bulbs. why is the fuse getting blown?

Short in one of the bulbs? There's plenty of headroom for that fuse (like 9 amps). Have you actually seen the LED bulbs light up?

yeah, i was thinking it has to be a short but where and how. lols. the halogens light up fine but the fuse goes poof everytime i stick the leds in. possibly a bad set of leds? but if thats the case the fuse shouldn't trip, right?

after i get some new fuses, im gonna try again without sticking the leds inside the tail light assembly and see what happens.

these are the leds for your reference

Many more possibilities for a short on anything like that with complicated (relative to a regular bulb) surface mounted components. Test the LEDs out separately. It's unlikely both would be faulty but possible.

If the regular bulbs work you know it's not the car, and the LEDs should be way under current for the fuse, so there's not a whole lot of other things it could be?

thats the chance you take on ebay LEDs. Especially if you paid under $5 for the pair.

do you have a multimeter? Test resistance across LED terminals, and then test for continuity.

nah, i've purchased leds from ebay since forever. practically the same stuff that costs 10x being sold by shops. these are the first that actually caused any kind of trouble.

no, and i wouldn't really know how to use one.
