Getting ready for cold weather.

Well after having a hint of frost last night I have a question. (Insert laugh track here) 31C on tuesday, +2C overnight.

Anybody know a good spot to pull a power cord through the firewall to hook up an interior heater?

And also, anybody know an easy method of draining and/or replacing the
windshield washer fluid? Short of siphoning, that is.

Honda wouldn't have -35C winter washer fluid in there, would they?

Can't wait for the first snow to try the Fit out. LOL Just kidding.

I would just start blending the -35 wiper fluid in with what was in there now. By the time the cold-cold weather comes up here, you should be at least near 100% -35 concentration.

I never thought of trying one of those inside heaters for the car... I am hoping this one heats up faster then my old Civic. In that car you drive about 20K before it started to put out warm air. Gotta love driving with mitts, scarfs and a toque all the time...

I can't wait until the first snowfall. I am drooling about doing powerslides in this car, I think it will be sweet. Now I just gotta find me a parking lot without those pesky concrete dividers in it!

So I guess nobody has a method of getting through the firewall.

Check out this sites webcam from Banff, Aberta. Calgarians may be the
first Fit drivers to see how the car handles in snow.

Buy some washer fluid concentrate, and just pour some straight into the reservoir without premixing. This should lower your freezing point substantially. I don't know if it is still available but such a concentrate used to be available at GM dealers.

On the passenger side there is a rubber grommet where wires pass through the firewall. I cut a small slit in this grommet to pass wires through for my outside temperature sensor, works fine.

Yes, thanks, I used a trouble light and saw where the cable goes through
this morning. I will use a hanger wire to pull the 3-wire htr. cord through.

As for the washer fluid, I phoned my dealer's service dept. and they said
it was probably summer fluid. I used a siphon hose to drain the 3 1/2 Liters
and filled it with -45C winter fluid and some -35C Rain-X anti-ice fluid.

On a roll I got my winter extension cord through my newly mounted grille
and hooked up the block htr. I usually wait until cold weather, today was
29C/83F. Even found a clip to mount it to the lic. plate frame.
