2007 AC/defogger switch replacement

My AC light went out ages ago and I just learned to live without it. Now the AC switch has died. I've seen the videos on how to replace the bulb, by removing the radio from the console to access behind. Do I need to do that to replace the switch or I can I pop it out with a flat head through the front of the console?

No you need to push it from the back. You will scratch your surface if you try to pry from the front. Actually, all you would have to do is remove the lower console piece and use a screwdriver to push it forward. It's pretty easy.

I removed the lower console piece but I can't see how I'm suppose to access the AC switch from there.

Are you saying I should be able to reach up underneath it and push it from the back with a long screwdriver?

I ended up removing the radio and I can unequivocally say that replacing that switch without removing the radio is NOT possible. You have to squeeze to release the plug that goes into the back of the connector and you have to squeeze to release BOTH sides of the switch to pull it out of the front.
