08 Fit Sport MT- Signs it needs MT Fluid?

Hi,
2008 Fit Sport MT with about 90,000KM on it. The Clutch was starting to slip (chatter) when changing into 2nd, 3rd. Was overdue for Clutch & Brake fluid change so I've had those changed and no more Chattering in 2nd etc. but it now sometimes feels like it's hesitating after a gear change or the Clutch is catching and letting go a couple of times. I thought the dealer was trying to rip me off when they said it needed transmission fluid, last MT Honda was a '78 Civic. So when I took it to an indie for the fluid change I didn't mention it until I picked it up. They told me, and it is, in the Owners Manual. They didn't have any Honda MTF so it will have to wait. It's not consistent but I've only taken short trips so far.
It is due for the change but what does the MTF affect if it has Clutch Fluid as well?

Worn MT fluid can affect shift smoothness or cause the gears to 'crunch'. If you shift really slowwwwwwwwww.... it works OK, so sometimes folks think it is a clutch issue.

So anyway, do all the maintenance: Change MT fluid every 30K miles or 4 years, the additives wear out so the synchronizers don't work as smooth.

Replace clutch and brake fluid every three years from now on, regardless of mileage. (It absorbs moister so becomes less effective)

+++++++++

Back in the early days, Honda said to use plain 10W-30 motor oil as trans fluid. (At least they did in our '76 Accord and '81 Civic)

Today's fluids are much more sophisticated. Their additives have specific qualities that lubricate the gears but that provide enough 'resistance' so that synchronizers work as designed. I'm sure that you will be amazed when you get it changed.

Thanks,
Which Fluid is in the "Valve"? I'm going to get the MTF changed anyway but it feels like an engagement issue. Shifts aren't crunchy but it act like I'm trying to shift from 2nd to 5th

Don't know what valve you are talking about. Manual trannies have gear clusters that slide on shafts. The combination of gears that are engaged determine the gear ratios. There are no valves or pumping of fluid, as in an automatic. (That is why they can achieve better MPG and/or acceleration)

Have a look at some of the YouTube videos that explain what happens inside your trans. Here's one a quick SEARCH turned up:

Sorry my bad description. I'm referring to the Clutch Delay Valve. Thread about it here https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...lay-valve.html I'm guessing it's there to make it harder to ride the Clutch. I'm trying to figure out if the CDV is affected by the MTF or the Clutch fluid. If it's releasing slower (faster?) than it should, would explain what I'm experiencing. It's not every shift but most of them. I comes and goes. Like it slips a couple of rotations before fully engaging. It hasn't happened starting in 1st but feels like it might if I tried to start in 3rd. Does this make more sense?
