Turbo GD1 (I know im late to the party”

Looking for ecu recommendations in 2020 for tuneability...
I have a turbo, making a manifold, making an exhaust, running water to air intercooler.... ect. The last piece to my puzzle is finding the best way to keep af/r’s okay. Piggy backs seem to be thing of the past but is ultimately what I want as they seem easy to tune and keeps it very easy, well compared to a custom standalone installation. Not looking to spend my life savings on it also.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Gonna bump this just in case for 2021

I'm also interested in the cheapest way to get a turbo chooching on a GD1 for a budget racer project. A turbo, intercooler, and various piping can be found in a junkyard and or DIYed but the ECU is always a problem, especially when it's more than the car is worth.

You can use any ECU that has 12+1 trigger support and N+1 cam trigger support. Speeduino, Megasquirt, MaxxECU etc.

I'm currently running an ECUMaster EMU Classic in mine and it runs great. It has replaced the stock ECU entirely without any issues but it is quite pricey.
