SRI usually produces more response than a CAI.....CAI get you more power gains but throttle response is only slightly increased if anything. SRI increases response but not much help at top end. ive had both a CAI and a SRI on my del Sol....SRI was better at low RPM pick up than the CAI. but the CAI did feel better at highway speeds and high RPM.

havent tried a power chamber style intake but i would imagine the response would be similar to that of a SRI but more power gains than a typical SRI due to the fact theres a nice fat chamber of air waiting for VTEC to kick in and suck all the air waiting in it.

I would be real interested for someone with a chamber intake to chime in. All I currently have is a K&N drop in so I can't add a lot. I am waitng to purchase an intake based on people's reveiws.

I've got the T1R CF intake and i love it. The throttle response was greatly improved, i can feel teh extra hp and tq at high RPM's and i sounds SOOO GOOD!!!! It doens't sound like a fart can. it's got a really deep growl to it. I love it!! In my other car, 2000 4Runner, i have the FIPK K&N intake and i didn't feel any HP gains. THE throttle did not improve that much either. With this one, i felt the differance right away.

I've got a Power Box intake and the results are pretty much in line w/ Toy Yoda's T1R -- the throttle response is vastly improved, and the engine is so much more willing to rev than stock. If you're looking for the best throttle response, along with the majority of gains in the mid-high revs, then a chamber intake is what you want. If your looking for pure top-end gains, then a CAI will do better, but you sacrafice some of the response (still better than stock though). As has come up in a number of other threads, what's best depends on your needs -- road course, touge, autox=chamber;drag=CAI. If all you're gonna do is just drive on the street though, probably anything's OK.

I picked up the cheap Autozone mockup ones. 45 and 90 degree angle bend fits perfect. Low end power improved up to about 4-5K rpm. The engine doesn't growl till the Vtec kicks in. Sounds nice. I think all SRI will sound the same. Same as CAI's. Other then that, high end power has very little gain that I can remember of. I can't see myself spending $180+ for a piece of mandrel bent pipe with a brand name sticker on it. More popular manufactures cost more. I paid less than $50 bucks for mine and it works just fine. A little bit of gain is alot for this car and it was well worth it.

Basically, every intake for the Fit will net you the same results. CAI's, like everyone has stated, will net you the most power gains. On the other hand, a power chamber or SRI will give you better throttle response. A lot of customers come in asking for a CAI but end up buying a SRI. IN MY OPINION, the SRI and power chamber designs work better.

If you can wait til Monday, I'll post pictures of the brand new Zero1000 Carbon Fiber Power Chamber Intake(aka. Top Fuel for those that are not familiar with the name). I think this intake is by far the best looking, as it sports a CF power chamber. I am not sure of pricing for it yet, but I am getting it put on one of my cars this weekend.

does your intake gives your dash some warning light like check engine or some? replacing stock with that type affects warranty right?

No it has no reason to go on UNLESS you improperly install the air flow meter and/or the air temp sensor. Check out my DIY thread for instructions

Yep, it'll fit just fine. You just have to tell them you have an A/T so they send you the correct bracket.

Definitely do so, I'd like to see one installed on a NA Fit. By chance are you gonna dyno it at all? Just curious as I've heard they lose power and want to see if it's true. It was a while back that I heard it, so it's possible they refined the design.

39900yen=~$334 at the moment, but from the looks of their site, they've got a 6yr anniversary sale going until March and it looks like the price is 33600 yen, or about $280. Figure in about $70~90 in additional shipping.

I'd say if they're extending the sale to international customers too, then you can get a really good deal on one then. I would ask them about it.

Chikubi, did you get the Type-R or the Type-S for your Fit? I have a MIlano sport so the Type-R's red filter would look nice. Is there one that is suited for one style of driving vs the other? I had a hard time figuring out what they were saying in the translation.

Im pretty sure its the Type R intake, as I was just reading it from his website.

I didn't even know Last Station redesigned it, so that it would fit USDM Fit! Now I just have to get my hands on one...
