Aspec Cold Air Intake IMO. Its the cheapest I believe and makes great power.

it's more to it than just numbers. You should really do your research on what kind of intake would work best with your driving style. If you stay in the upper RPM's a CAI would be the most beneficial. If you want good throttle response then maybe a chamber intake or short ram will help you.

I'm going to keep this thread open so people can actually discuss what types of intakes work best. If it breaks down into people name dropping without backing up why it's the best then this thread will be pointless and locked.

for short ram, I would choose the Weapon R SRI, it looks great and I believe is one of the best power producing SRIs...

if you looking for something simple, cheap and effective id say a drop in filter. either Spoon or K&N.

throttle response and pull after the 4.5k mark improve as well as gas mileage....its not drastic but enough

I have the AEM cold air intake and couldn't be happier with it, noticable increase in response, sound, and power. I had some reservations about a CAI because of people talking about water uptake, but I've been on long highway road trips where downpours have slowed traffic to 30 mph, with heavy pooling on the road and experienced no issues, ( even with my car being lowered).

for japanese market

hks and apexi have good power band, but the difference between the two is

hks poor filtering

APEXI
The dual funnel Power Intake evolved from the highly successful Super Intake. Subtle refinements in the design and filter element resulted in a 10% reduction in pressure drop. Utilizing an upper and lower funnel, the Power Intake reduces air turbulence within the filter and creates smooth airflow into the throttle body. It is a maintenance-free dry-type air filter and will alleviate the problem of filter oil from "wet" air cleaners interfering with the air-flow meter. Accept no imitations.

from what ive seen on other cars, one peice CAI's usually generate more power than a two peice design. theres a 4WHP difference on a 00-04 celica GTS 6 speed. more than likely there won't be a difference in a Fit because the volume of air ingested is about half of what a GTS takes in.

^i agree.

For power modding, if you want:
Noise, slight increase in throttle response, little-to-no HP gain= Short ram
Most power gains, same as above, tiny risk of hydrolock if driven in a lake= CAI.

'nuff said. There really shouldnt be much of a discussion. The brands are just all different, but it still comes down to SRI and CAI. Thats were you pick.

sure theres more to be said than that. where do the chamber style fall then? could honda-veni, t1-r, and last station just be hoping that people will buy their product because it looks "neat"?

I thought that SRI and Chamber intakes have better throttle response than the CAI.
