Increase Low End Performance
Hey everyone, I'm interested in who has done some Low End HP performance mods. So far, I've got:
1. T1R Carbon Intake
2. DC 4-1 header
3. 5Zigen axle back
Any suggestions on what else to do to increase bottom end??
With my silencer on, i feel more torque becasue of the increase in back pressure, but what else can i do?
I guess what I'm saying is that i want to increase my torque numbers. Any suggestions??

Theres little things you can do for better responsiveness once u've already done basic bolt-ons. Heres a few:
-Torque damper or stiffer motor mounts help put the power to the ground faster so u'll feel good throttle response, even in regular cruising.
-synthetic oil; better efficiency and lubrication
-weight reduction; whatever u dont need, get it out.

Will this affect my ride quality?
what are you willing to do to your car to achieve more low end? the cheapest route as of now is to get a sc or turbo kit and send it to a good tuner in your area and have them tune the car for better lower/mid-range power. But the other far more expense route is to do a k-swap. or have custom cams made for the L15 (then make more and sell them to us.)
at a stop/idle, the interior will be vibrating/resonating, even more when the a/c is turned on. But its nothing terrible, your car feels "alive" i guess u could say. But once u accelerate/cruise, the vibes are gone.

So you'd say that it's definitely worth it? I just want a little more "get-up-and-go" I'd be nice to be able to take over a bus once in a while without having to go to 4500RPM
It doesnt give you any more HP/TQ than u already have, but it'll put the power you have down to the ground without loss in engine/axle movement.
If u're not sure whether or not you'll like vibes, then get the torque damper. If u dont like it, its easily removable and sell it. Aftermarket motor mounts are more for the dedicated, but usually vibrate less than the TD or the same. But keep in mind, a TD is like a band-aid for a wound that really needs stitches and staples.
Keep in mind that Honda engines ask to be revved to go any where N/A wise. Or, later down the line, look into a K24 swap. That'll def get the low end you want.

Get your car tuned. From what Ive been hearing a tune on auto Fits are gaining 10whp. It may be peak HP, you could always tune the car for low end?
However, Id suggest putting the Spoon B-pipe back. Change the muffler if you cant stand the sound. Hell, put the OEM muffler back on then.
How far and how much are you willing to go and spend? A higher stall torque converter will deff help the Fit move out of its own way. You'll have to go custom. I dont think they make one yet.

high stall TC's are pretty much a universal mod for the automatic. If you call any of the major performance trans companies, they can do it. Now the problem with it is mainly downtime and tranny labor costs. But the benefits are GREAT for daily driving, and more so with tracking. Rpms move faster and car just goes!
for a manual trans, get lighter flywheel + aftermarket clutch as soon as one comes out.
As for tuning, it might not be the best bang for the buck for just bolt-ons. Plus, you can pretty much tune for only top end. You will not be able to tune cruising fuel b/c your car is in closed loop. ECU will automatically adjust a/f to 14.6-14.7 no matter what.

Just wondering, if you install a torque dampener does that create additional stress on your existing motor mounts? Is it enough to cause damage in the long run or basically negligable?
lol, if you had to rate this mod on a scale of 1-10 (10 being a supercharger and 1 being a voltage stabilizer) where would you rate this one?

rate motor mounts? i'd say its one of the must-haves OVER s/c if u're serious about making the most of your mods. Even aftermarket s/c'd cars should have something to restrict engine movement (whether it be TD or motor mount inserts by Energy Suspension, but no avail for Fit), otherwise, they'll experience crazy wheel hop that wont only hurt track times, but your axles.
a torque damper does add some stress to the stock mounts, but it'll take more than a year or even longer to do so (with N/A setup). At least with my experience on stock mounts + TD + bolt-ons. Once boosted, i went with full replacements. The full replacements had a better feel than the TD, and vibrated less.
