Stock (EP3) Civic Si Exhaust

I've ran across the idea of putting the axle back portion from the 02'-05' Civic Si Hatchback on their Honda Fit. But I have yet to talk to anyone about the gains that come from it. Anyone out there in FitFreak land know of anyone who has done this?

Someone has done that before using the EP3 muffler.

Well it sounds OK to me. But are you sure that it was the stock exhaust from an EP3? I didn't see that info anywhere.

Thats deff it. It says its in the info on the side, and thats what the muffler looks like.
A friend of mine has it on his VBP Sport auto. He said its a little deeper than stock. He only got it because it looks good and he didnt want a muffler on an automatic.

Did your friend say he could feel a power gain or not? I'm sure he didn't and it's just for looks and sound but hp gains are always nice!

you'd probably have to replace the b pipe for power gains, especially if you are just running the stock si muffler.

that would be a sweet idea though, i'd love the ep3 muffler with an aftermarket b pipe. some whp and a good looking tip that isn't obnoxious sounding!

It's so hard to find an ep3 muffler. I did find a guy selling his 06 Si muffler. It looks very nice with an oval tip and it has great sound. But I LOVE the dual tip look.

Yeah they are hard to find. For some reason everyone who has an EP3 wants to keep it.

You have to bring it to a muffler shop to weld it on.

very true! i have a buddy who has an 04 silver ep and said he would be down for giving me the muffler if he ever does a full catback...if being the key word.

this seems to be true of ep's in general...for all the crap people talk on them, they are hard to find used with low mileage and they are hard to find in general.

Im thinking of getting the Ep3 muffler to replace my Netami TwinLoop.
I want a new look. I either the stealth Ep3 or a loud T1R Euro.

The EP3 is the step child of Honda. It's the only Civic Si that was engineered to be fuel efficient and without performance. It has close to the same motor that is in the base model RSX. VTEC does not work the same in this motor like the other older engines that we are used to. In fact the L15A1 that we all love to hate is right along the same lines as the K20A3 as they both run less one valve per cylinder until you reach the 3,400 mark.

i also was interested in that muffler's look but instead i looked into having the muffler tip or finisher, which i called my Honda dealer and quoted me $185 for it alone so the hell with that...junker time
