Look, removing the catalytic converter makes a car pollute a LOT more. And for what? To get an extra hp or two?

How about not being self-centered by creating a lot of extra pollution just to make your car louder? You can make a car plenty loud without removing the cat.
You do know that a 1970's muscle car pollutes about 1000 times more than a Fit w/o a cat? Why don't you go troll their forums?

I still think my skunk2 60mm catback sounds the best... deep tone, and no rasp (unless the engine is REALLY cold). Im hesitant to get the cat delete only because i dont want it to ruin the sound...

So far all my cars have had no cat. My dads truck has no cat and about 95% of my friends cars are cat less.
So in other words, everyone you know is an ass? Just because a lot of people do something doesn't make it right. By that logic, if you move to a bad area, you'd have no problem shooting people because everyone else does it.

Removing the cat doesn't accomplish anything real except for spewing more pollution. I'd encourage you to behave like a responsible adult who recognizes that other people would like to breathe clean air. I'm not a tree-hugging hippie, but I recognize the importance of having clean air and water. It's a damn shame you don't appear to value such things, but perhaps one day you'll notice how gray the sky can get on a clear day and realize that the sky should be a wonderful shade of blue.

Because they're a dying breed. Slowly but surely they're being relegated to collector's items or the junk heap.

Look at the number of modern cars on the road and the number of miles they're driven. You're talking at much larger scales here.

Of course, if you do have a 1970's muscle car as your primary vehicle you're probably an idiot with too much money. 8-12 mpg is just a great way to get rid of excess cash.

How about because the air in NJ is so bad? I remember driving to Newark airport the day after a hurricaine hit NJ. The air around Elizabeth was actually CLEAN - I could see NYC perfectly. When I came back later, it was back to its usual gray self. :|

Alright here is my review of the midpipe!

In terms of performance I can definately feel a quicker pick up in the midrange rpms. As for sound the exhaust note is same, however it has a deeper tone and makes my exhaust sound alot better then when I just had a testpipe and axleback!

I guess? I didnt do it after them. My Mx-6 has had no cat for a while. The whole 6yrs Ive owned it actually. I wasnt following anyone, I did it just because I wanted more power. Say what you want but a cat delete in a turbo car is a NICE power gain.
With the Fit; the WHP gain is probably minimal but the powerband is so nice now. It was a cheap mod that made a difference. Wouldnt matter anyway, I gutted my OEM cat.

If I worried about pollution I would have bought a ULEV, or a shitty Hybrid.
As said above, the Fit with no cat is still probably less of a threat then older cars WITH cats and other cars without cats.

Trying to stop me or anyone else in this thread isnt going to stop the millions of others that are running with no cat. Im not saying I dont value clean air and water. Im just saying jumping on me or anyone else isnt going to save it.

Smile Cat-Less

Ever see those Ford Turbo Diesel Trucks with that black smoke that pours out the tail pipe? How about all those older Mercedes Diesels on the road or maybe the tracker trailers with dual smoke stacks pouring out that black puff of smoke! Alot of of vechiles on the road that contribute to the ozone issue.

Well at least there is some debate about it. Removing your cat should remain a rebel gesture where it is illegal and not be considered a liberal choice. I for one know NOBODY who ever removed their cat in the past 30 years, when they became less restrictice and more efficient.
So again, no aftermarket Hi-flo cat is available?

there are but if your gonna spend the money for a hi flow cat that only helps it minimally then why have a cat at all. seriously, most welder shops wont even touch the cat. thats why the cat delete is a bolt on, so you can do it yourself.

around here people charge a shit load of money to weld on a high flow cat because technically its illegal to mess with the cat unless its dead.
and for an 07....i doubt it would be dead.

Only one that I know of is the NOBLESSE sport cat, but it's NOT cheap by any means (~$940.00 USD). Still . . . .

while truck drivers, muscle car guys etc do it, does that mean we fit guys have to as well?

it just seems like a lame excuse. 'oh well they all do it!'. come on what are we 12?

at any rate, i'm all for cat backs anyway. i know our cars don't pollute half as much, but thats not what this thread is about.

there is plenty of performance to be had without taking out your cat. if you are really THAT desperate for hp, well, more power to you i guess, but a re-evaluation of what type of car you should have bought in the first place is in order.

not to bash. i somewhat agree on what you have said.

but, i bought this car to be different and fast.
its easy to make a civic/integra fast. but it takes more money and time to make a fit fast. and not many people around here are modding fits. so when i go pulling on cars on the track, ill definitely get more respect then a ordinary civic. just my opinion. i mean if i really wanted to be fast from the get go i would probably have boughten a srt4, or a civic si or something. but those we already know can be easily fast. but fits, heh thats a different story.

How is owning a Honda and trying to rice it out different....or fast really?

For less money than a new fit, you can buy an old Porsche that will leave your car in the dust AND retain value better.

The fit is an economy car designed to offer maximum utility in minimal space. Reck-o-nize!
