exhaust gasket missing?

i took my muffler off a few months ago to see how it sounded, decided to put it back on today. is there a gasket between the muffler and the midpipe or just the 2 flanges and the 2 bolts? ive got a leak but its as tight as its gonna get, may be its on at an angle or am i missing some sort of rubber gasket?

edit: i searched thro the forums and see that there is a gasket. but it says its welded on? may be theyre talking about the wrong gasket or just the metal piece where the bolts thread on?
