Consider this your warning.
This is where you are wrong I did get the "Search first" when I was a NOOBIE and loads of others still do the same thing including moderators so extend me the same moderation you extend to them.

And you are say to be told is some kind of bad thing and like I'm the only one saying it here is a search of SEARCH and surprise surprise 6 pages (and there is MORE pages but the search engine only offers 6 pages at a time) of other members and myself telling other members to search try and read some then try and tell me I'm the only one causing shock and revulsion and scarring off noobies by telling them to search.

If you really feel that strongly about it then I guess a post from you telling them ALL that they are liable for banning for telling people to search is in order if you really are interested in FAIR and consistent moderation.

Why am I the only one getting this warning and not any of of the other people doing the exact same thing?

All Im saying is extend some courtesy. Look at how many posts the OP has. Maybe this is his first car forum. Maybe doesnt know that there is a search feature. Im not getting into anymore of a pissing contest than it already is.

I will leave it at that.

That's what I figured all one has to do is look at the post just above yours and they know you CONDONE this behavior but you still feel it necessary to warn me about telling someone to search and ignoring the other hundreds of members that have done THE EXACT SAME THING.

And you are NOT just saying "extend some courtesy" you publicly threatened me with a ban for something as simple as telling someone to search while allowing hundreds of others to do the exact same thing. That is not a simple "extend some courtesy" in anyway shape or form.

Does you not getting into a pissing contest mean that your STILL not going to take any action on the egregious attacks against my family even though you missed that part of my post because I did report them already and they are still there with no threat of a ban for the posters???

I don't know about the K24 but the K20 out of the Base model rsx runs off of Regular gas.

OK, first let's look at the pro's and con's of K20 vs. R18

K20xx
pro's
VTEC~180-200bhp stock
+ TC -> 300+bhp easy
+ SC -> 225+bhp easy
6MT available
much aftermarket support/parts
con's
requires premium gas
gets ~20-26mpg city

R18a1
pro's
i-VTEC
140bhp stock
+ TC -> 170+bhp
requires regular gas
gets 26+mpg city
con's
little aftermarket support
no 6MT available
exhaust manifold integrated into the block
(restricts max. vel. of exhaust gases; can it handle boost?)

Concerning price, both swaps will probably have near the same amount of time, effort and money put into it. Swap a K20 and you get more bang for your buck; swap a R18a1 and the only benefits you'll have is slightly better gas mileage and the ability to use regular gas. Not worth it IMO.

The base RSX K20 uses regular gas, the Type-S uses premium. The K24 (TSX) also uses premium.

OK, that's done.

claymore:
OK, this is ridiculous. It's not the fact that you told him to use the search function but how you went about it. In your post, you came off as rude and you probably didn't make the OP feel welcome. That's it. That's all it ever was. Yes, there are other members who tell the n00bs to use the search function, but I've never felt that any of their posts that I've read were rude and unwelcoming. End of argument.

Small correction to your K20 stats.
All K's are I-vtec
and HP is 160-200
The 160 hp version does not need Premium gas

K24 from accord/CR-V/Element. 160Bhp, 166ft lbs of torque, regular gas, weighs only 8-10lbs more than a K20, and responds very well to bolt-ons and only requires regular fuel. With the lightness of the fit and an RSX 5 speed tranny and the K24's torque, this would b a VERY driveable car at low revs and stomping it.

My crazy idea...you all can tell me if it's possible is a K24 swap for our Fit followed by the purchase of a 92 - 95 hatchback and swap the L15 into it as a DD and beater. Sound possible? My only concern would be the height of the L15 and the low hood on the hatch.

it's possible, but putting an L15 in an older body would require custom mounts and driveshafts. But then a fiasco of a wiring nightmare would begin. You'd need a fit dash, ECU and wiring harness. You'd basically have to turn the EG into a Fit electronically. The K24 into a Fit is the same as a K20. hardware wise and IIRC K-pro is needed and you have to keep the original ECU to run the dash

Those are all good enough points to make me skip that plan. It would be one thing if the L15 was a stellar motor, but sadly it isn't. The D15 in our '95 Civic got better mileage and had the same power. I was just trying to come up with a use for the L15. I'm guessing most people either keep them for a future un-swap or sell them to someone.

L15 with electronic ignition and drive-by-wire i not a good mtor for use in anything but another fit. D series with distributor ignitions can be carburated and used for go-carts or pretty much anything. L15 iDSI is the motor that shines. L15Vtec not so great a platform.

Oh, so there's some good progress with the kit? I thought there was an issue they could get past.

Add another correction. The R18's aftermarket is larger than people think. It's about to get a little bit larger too. I have some friends developing parts specifically for all-motor and ECM.

EDIT: Also, if you include JDM K20As, it's HP = 160-222bhp (the 07 FD2 is rated at 225ps, but it's actually putting out closer to 232ps).

I can't type tonight. Oy.

does anyone else care about how high a car revs? After driving my sister's RSX-S, it was sad going back to 6500 redline... How high does the R18 go? I Think my sister's car hit 8300rpm... that was supreme.. drool*
