STOCK exhaust size?

What's the stock size of the exhaust, guys? I've heard that gains from getting an axle-back exhaust are the same as from a cat-back exhaust.

However, I plan on using a 35-50 shot of nitrous, adding a DIY intake and headers and replacing the axle-back(cat-back if I get enough recommendations for it).

Does adding a mid pipe and a b pipe actually produce horsepower/tq gains over stock? Or does the axle-back produce the same results?

My dilemma is:
A. I want a quiet exhaust, quiet like near stock.
B. I want to save money if possible.

So, first, without the nitrous/turbo/sc, is there a difference in adding a midpipe and bpipe, or is it the same as just an axle back?

And second, WITH nitrous, will it be necessary to open up the exhaust wider?

it might gain you some power/torque, but definately not worth the money IMO.
